Load of The Soil - An old lady story - The moral stories in English

There was a very shrewd and crafty landowner who controlled a lot of land throughout the entire hamlet. When someone in need came to him for assistance, he deftly loaned them a little sum of money. He kept adding interest to the principal amount, taking advantage of individuals with less education. People would eventually be unable to repay the debt because the amount had increased so much, and they would have to give their land back to the landlord.

An old lady story

His focus was now on a piece of land owned by an elderly woman close to his home. She had no family and was completely alone. She planned to grow her own food and take care of her necessities. The landlord was unable to entice her into ceding her property to him. Then, after buying off a village official, he faked ownership documents in his name. He went to the elderly woman with a government representative and gave her a notice to turn over the land to him.

When the elderly woman learned of this, she was horrified and begged for forgiveness, saying that she had lived here all her life and that her family had owned this land, which she had inherited and where her loved ones were buried. She went to the local court, but the landlord had provided fraudulent ownership documents and had bought off everyone. As a result, the landlord was awarded a favourable verdict by the court.

The landlord and his friends waited for the dejected old woman to leave as she got ready to vacate the property. An elderly woman who was leaving stated to the landlord, "Sir, you have stolen everything from me today; my entire life was spent here, but now I am leaving," as she was overcome with grief. The area where I played and grew up with my family is very special to me. We are all composed of soil, so everyone can feel affection for it, she continued. Allow me to carry a bag filled with this dirt to keep with me so I can retain the scent of this location with me till I quietly pass away.

The landowner grinned, thinking that since he had taken possession of her entire property without paying her, she might as well have it covered in soil so she could depart without being seen. He replied, "Okay. You may fill up your booze bottle.

Old woman began adding soil to her terrarium. She overfilled it, making it difficult for her to lift the basket over her head. "Sir, could you kindly lend a hand to place the basked over my head," she then begged the landlord. Oh you dear old lady, didn't you consider before you overfilled this basket, the landlord remarked as he moved closer to assist. How can you carry this bag of soil with you if you are having trouble lifting it?

Old lady sobbed as she stated, "Oh sir, this entire area was my own. I spent my entire life here. Yet, while I am still breathing, I am fighting to move a single basket of soil from here. Even after I pass away, I won't be able to take it with me. You, sir, own a lot of other people's property. How are you going to transport everything?

Hearing this, the landlord stood speechless. Realizing his error, he knelt before the elderly woman and begged for pardon. He asked her to live happily here and gave her the land back.

Moral:

Be honest and avoid greed. Take only what you need, no more. Be pleased with what you have because sometimes it's enough to live a happy life.
