The clever monkey and the crocodile short story - The moral stories in English

 There was a very big tree on the bank of a river. A monkey was living on it . There used to be very sweet fruits on that tree. The monkey used to eat them full and have fun. He was spending the day having fun alone.

One day a crocodile came from that river under the tree. On asking, the crocodile told that he has come there in search of food. On this the monkey plucked some fruit from the tree and gave many sweet fruits to the crocodile to eat. In this way the monkey and the crocodile became friends. Crocodile started to visit the monkey and together they used to eat a lot of fruits. The monkey was also very happy to have a friend.

One day, in a conversation, the crocodile told the monkey that he has a wife who lives in the river.

She lives in his house across from the other side. Then the monkey gave many sweet fruits that day to the crocodile to take along for his wife. In this way, he would eat fruits every day and take it for his wife too. But the wife likes to eat fruits, but the husband likes to return home late.

was not . One day the crocodile's wife told the crocodile that if that monkey eats so many sweet fruits every day, then how sweet his heart will be. I will eat monkey's heart. Crocodile explained her a lot but she did not listen. But, crocodile was slave of wife. He was forced to do whatever his wife used to order him.

Forced by his wife, the crocodile agreed to bring the monkey to his house on the pretext of a feast. In the middle of the river, he told the monkey about his wife's plan. On this the monkey said that he is happy to serve his friend's wife. But, usually a monkey keep his heart safe hiding on the tree. So he will have to go back and get the heart back. Crocodile took the monkey back to the tree. The monkey jumped and climbed the tree. 

Monkey's cunning friend was waiting for the heart below. After waiting for some time the crocodile asked the monkey? What happened friend? The monkey laughed and said that 

"Go fool, go home and tell your wife that you are the biggest fool in the world. How anyone can take out his heart and keep it aside."

Through the intelligence of the monkey, we know that in times of trouble, we should never loose the patience.
