Once upon a time, a shepherd boy lived nearby his hamlet, taking his flock of sheep out each day to graze on the grassy slope. There was a wolf in the woods of the hill area that was notorious for attacking the sheep that were grazing there.
The locals in that region were aware of the wolf's danger and were constantly prepared to help anyone who cried out for assistance. The shepherd child was well aware of the local neighbours' propensity for offering assistance.
The shepherd boy was becoming bored one nice day as he sat on a hillside and observed his sheep munching on grass. He shouted, "Wolf! Wolf!" out loud for comic effect. My livestock are being raided by a wolf! When the villagers heard this, they immediately went to the hillside to assist the boy in chasing the wolf away. But when they got there, they discovered there was no wolf in the area. The boy saw the gathering and laughed heartily at the sight of their angry expressions. The villagers warned him not to needlessly seek for help when there is no wolf nearby after becoming enraged by his behaviour. After saying that, they descended the hill.
After a while, the boy mischievously yelled, "Wolf! Wolf!" once more. My livestock are being raided by a wolf! The villagers surprised him by rushing up the hill once more to assist him in chasing the lecherous wolf away. They were understandably outraged when he made fun of them for duping them twice in a row. When there was no wolf in the area, one of the locals yelled at the shepherd not to raise a false alarm. They returned down the hillside whining.
Later that day, the shepherd cried out in alarm and yelled, "Wolf! Wolf!" at the top of his lungs. My livestock are being raided by a wolf! The townspeople, on the other hand, believed that the child was purposefully raising a false alarm about the wolf for his own pleasure this time. They ignored his plea for assistance and assumed that he was pulling another practical joke on them.
Everyone questioned the shepherd boy's absence of his flock of sheep as dusk fell. To locate him, they ascended the hill. They were shocked to see him crying, so they inquired as to his cause of distress.
The young shepherd kid sobbed as he said, "The wolf came and scattered my flock of sheep." He shouted out in distress, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is robbing my sheep!" he cried, but no one showed up to assist him in chasing the obscene beast away.
He was informed by the villagers that they had aided him in the first two cases when he had raised false alarms. They thought the third call was also a joke when they witnessed him make fun of them for being helpful, too. Consequently, they weren't interested in it.
The moral of the story is that a liar is a liar forever. Even when a liar is telling the truth, nobody trusts them.
