King Dileep's cow service, the story of Nandani cow

King Dilip became a very majestic king of the Surya dynasty. He was also the ancestor of Maharaj Ram Chandra. Unfortunately he was not having any children. The king was very worried about this. With this concern, he went to his guru's ashram to find out its solution. He narrated all his agony to Gurudev and asked Guru ji the reason for childlessness and its solution.

After listening to the king's words, Guru ji observed the deeds of the king with his divine powers. Due to this defect, the desire of your child does not come to fruition.

On this, King Dileep asked Guru ji, Maharishi, I have not committed any such crime in my departure. Please kindly explain my crime. Gurudev said that when you had gone to heaven, you were so lost in the opulence and beauty of there that you had a Kamdhenu cow sitting under the tree in the cycle.did not greet Due to which you got blamed for insulting Kamdhenu. King Dileep asked, Maharaj, I have not insulted Kamdhenu cow in my knowledge, then how did I feel this curse. On this his Vice-Chancellor told him everything in detail. Guru ji said that- Rajan, once you had gone to heaven on the invitation of Indra. Going there you saw the beauty and splendor of heaven. You got lost in this beauty and did not greet Kamdhenu cow sitting near Kalpataru. Because of this insult, you were cursed by Kamdhenu. Due to the same curse of Kamdhenu, who fulfills all the wishes, you are still deprived of child happiness.

Maharaja Dilip asked the Guru a way to overcome this curse. Guru ji said - Rajan, the only way to avoid this curse is to please Kamdhenu by serving the cow, but it is impossible to bring Kamdhenu to earth. Alternatively, you can serve Nandani cow which is in Maharishi Vashistha's ashram. You beg him to serve Nandani cow.

On getting the orders of his guru, King Dilip went to Maharishi Vashistha's ashram and begged him to bring Nandani cow here for service. King Dilip used to serve Nandani cow with all his heart. After following the cow, in defense of it, arrows were shot on the bow. In this way, King Dilip Nandani would follow the cow in cow service. Like this many days passed. One day the cow went into a dense forest while grazing. That day a lion came in front of the cow. Singh stopped the cow by making a long voice. The lion said that you have eaten the deodar tree of my garden. I take care of this garden. As a punishment I will eat you. On hearing such words from the mouth of the lion, Raja Dilip became angry and while holding his bow and arrows, said that as long as there is life in the body of the Sun descendants, no one can harm any of their leaders. Oh lord of yours, how long can you live before my arrow strikes you. On this Singh said, O Rajan, don't come in between, this is a dispute between me and this cow. I am the protector of this garden appointed by Lord Shiva and it is my duty and law to punish those who damage this park.

Hearing this from Singh, King Dilip said that if you are the servant of Lord Shiva, then we are also respected, I can not take up arms on you, but you should punish me for this crime.
This cow is protected by me, so its crime will also be considered as my rule. So you punish me for the crime of this cow and kill me and eat it. Singh said while explaining to Raza Dileep. O king, you are a skilled king of this country, due to your death, this country will suffer a lot. Let me kill this cow and eat it. When the king did not listen to Dilip even after the lion's persecution and lay down in front of the lion for his food, after some time he heard an astonishing voice. The king opened his eyes and saw that the lion was missing from there. Nandi cow said - Rajan, it was all my illusion, I was pleased with your service. By my grace you will get very bright children. With the blessings of Nandani cow, King Dileep was blessed with a son, who was named Raghu. Raghu became a very great king of the Surya dynasty, after his name, his family was named Raghuvansh.
